Description
This product (Catalogue no. 89F0002XCB) is a software designed to analyze the financial interactions between governments, individuals and families in Canada. Base data and simulation model of social policy (SPSD/M) allows researchers to analyze the potential impact of changes in taxes, earnings, demographic trends and other factors. It can be used to study the implications of changes in federal and provincial taxes and benefits on families and governments from 1991 to 2015.
It includes a database and a model. The database statistically representative of individuals in their family context contains information about each individual to calculate the taxes paid to federal and provincial cash transfers received from them. It is created by combining statistical data from surveys and administrative data. As the model, it is a static accounting model which treats each individual and each family of the database, calculates the transfers and taxes (including income taxes, social contributions and taxes consumption) from the programs and algorithms provided by law or proposed
